What You Need to Know About the Digital SAT

Your SAT scores can make you a more competitive college applicant and open doors to merit scholarships. Here’s what you need to know about the new test.

When is the SAT Going Digital?

The first SAT will be offered in March 2024. Digital test dates for 2023-24 are as follows:

• March 9th, 2024

• May 4th, 2024

• June 1st, 2024

Where do I take the test?

You’ll take the SAT at a test site in your local area on a laptop or tablet that you bring.

What’s on the test?

It has two sections – Reading & Writing, and Math – each broken down into two modules, a baseline module and an adaptive module.

The test is “adaptive.” What does that mean?

The second modules on each of the two sections (Reading & Writing and Math) will be easier or harder depending on your performance on each of the first modules.

Will I know if I'm taking the upper or lower second module?

No, the SAT does not provide feedback regarding which module you'd received.

Section by Section Detail

Reading & Writing: Short passages, 1 question per passage, wider variety of topics covered, heavy reliance on logic, author's claims, and precise vocabulary.

The highest possible score on the SAT is 1600

Your second/adaptive section will have a fixed level of difficulty (easier or harder). This means that your performance on your first/baseline modules acts as an anchor for your total potential score.

Math: Straightforward questions focused primarily on algebra skills, built-in Desmos calculator available for every question.

My client and her daughter are very happy. She got an increase in just 10 hours of tutoring. Now I have numbers to prove to my other students that cramming at the last minute and trying to do self-study do not work.
